SOME OF THE SCHOOL’S LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS SINCE INCEPTION

ACADEMIC

1. Master Fiyinfoluwa Sokoya (JS 2) won the second Prize in an essay competition organized by Province 1, Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria in February, 2001.
2. Gbemisola Omidiji (SS 3) Bagged the Female Outstanding Performance award at the National Cultural Quiz Competition in Abuja in November, 2001
3. Tolulope Sowunmi (JS 1) won the 1st Prize in Aworerin “Fa Ogbon yo”, May – Sept., 2002 Edition.
4. The school came 1st in Choral Music and 2nd in Traditional Story Telling at the 5th Dayo Dedeke Choral Music and Traditional Story Telling Competition at June 12, Cultural Centre, Abeokuta in May, 2004.
5. The school came 2nd at the 5th Akinfimojoye Foundation Annual Quiz and Debating Competition for Schools (Public and Private) in Abeokuta by Chief Gbenga Dalley the Akinfimojoye of Egbaland in March, 2005.
6. Master Mofiyinfoluwa Sokoya (SS 3) was awarded two (2) prizes for winning the 2004 National Essay by NCF/NBC & Fanta by the Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel during the Children’s Day Programme at M.K.O. Stadium in May, 2005.
7. Master Mofiyinfoluwa (SS 3) came 2nd in the State ANCOPSS Essay Competition in March, 2005.
8. Master Dapo Adelanwa (SS 3) was among those awarded with Prizes for a brilliant performance at a science and Quiz Competition to mark the 30th years of the creation of Ogun State by the Governors, Otunba Gbenga Daniel in February, 2006.
9. The school came 2nd at the 11th Akinfimojoye Foundation Annual Quiz and Debating Competition for School (Public and Private) in Abeokuta in March, 2013.
10. Opeyemi Taiwo (SS 2) came 2nd in Abeokuta South Essay Competition to mark the 80th Birthday of the Nobel Lauriette, Prof. Wole Soyinka and was among the best five candidates that represented Ogun State in the National Finals. She came 6th Topic – “Education: Path to Freedom and Future” in July 2014.
11. Emuemhonjie Osemegbe (SS 3) was honoured by “Learn African Plc” at Ibadan on November 27, 2014 for being the 3rd Best Student in Ogun State in the 2014 NECO SSCE result.
12. Emuemhonjie Osemegbe was honoured by the school management for having the best result in the 2014 WASSC result with 8 (A1) and  1 (B3) during the Schools’ Speech and Prize-giving Ceremony in December, 2014.
13. Bolutife Oluyinka (SS 2) came 2nd in Abeokuta South Essay Competition to mark the 81st Birthday of Nobel Lauriette, Prof. Wole Soyinka and among the best five candidates that represented Ogun State in the National Finals. He came 6th Topic: “Justice and Freedom: Essential Conditions for Humanity”. in July, 2015.

OTHER LAND

MARK EVENTS

1. J. K. Abiona, the music teacher composed the School Anthem and taught the School Choir and the entire students in June, 1999.
2. In December 12, 1999 Miss Adebusola Adepitan (SS 2) emerged the Nation’s Chess Champion and represented Nigeria in the Junior Chess Championships Competition in Hasting England from December 29, 1999 to January 9, 2000.
3. The school wine beret was introduced on 24 girls in March, 2000
4. The School came second at the march past to mark the Nigerian 40th Independence Anniversary at M.K.O. Stadium in October, 2000
5. The school name was changed from Sodipo Memorial Anglican School (SMAS) to Omolaja Sodipo Memorial Anglican School (OSMAS) to mark out the real benefactor of the school as there are a number of people bearing Sodipo. This decision was taken at the 2001 Synod Session.
6. The customized School Uniform was delivered to the school for use in September 2005 by Woollen and Synthetic Manufacturers, Lagos.
7. The customized Housewear was delivered to the school for use in September 2011 by Woollen and Synthetic Manufacturers, Lagos
8. The school started the use of customized socks in September, 2012.
9. The school reports sheets were computerized in September, 2012.
10. May, 2014, one of our students Ubi Patrick (SS 2) represented Ogun State at the Dawn Games in Lagos State at Teslim Balogun Stadium. He came 2nd in Long Jump and 3rd in Tripple Jump.
11. An Accounting Systems software was installed to computerize the School Accounts in September, 2014.
